Wirehive 100 and YDLA Awards 2016

The Yoyo team recently had the pleasure of attending the Wirehive 100 and Young Digital Leader award ceremonies which both took place on the 13th of October. We were super excited to have been shortlisted for the following awards:

  • Most Respected Agency
  • Consumer Site of the Year - FoodTalk
  • B2B Site of the Year - Lane4
  • Digital Leader of the Year - Jenny Kitchen

  • Entrepreneur of the Year - Jenny Kitchen

The Young Digital Leader Awards was held in a quirky little venue called The White Loft in Southwark. We were served champagne on arrival, after which people had the chance to interact and mingle. There was an impressive panel of judges, including Tejal Patel of Cisco, Lawrence Webber of Karmarama, and Stephen Graham of Deloitte Digital.

For us, the highlight of the night was our MD, Jenny, winning the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award!

The Wirehive 100 awards proved to be another fantastic ceremony. It was hosted at the Mercedes Benz World located in Weybridge. Wirehive 100 was started in 2012 to recognise and celebrate digital talent in southern counties. At this year’s awards, they spared no effort to make the event as glamorous and glitzy as possible. On our arrival, we were met by girls fire breathing outside the entrance; a red carpet experience awaited us before we were led to the champagne reception. At half-past seven, we were served an amazing three course meal, and then the awards kicked off!

The MC for the night was British comedian and actor, Paul Chowdhry, who, along with other guests, gave out the awards. There were 15 categories and although we didn’t win any, we were up against some of the top agencies in the UK. We also came 30th in the league table.

Both events were an absolute success and we had a really good time wining and dining, networking, and rubbing shoulders with truly exceptional talent. Looking forward to next year!
