Design, Development, UX, UI
Designing a bespoke, stand-out digital presence for a standalone business division.

As a leading recruitment business in the construction sector, O’Neill & Brennan is trusted by clients to place an average of 2,500 workers every week. Over nearly 30 years in business, the company has also expanded into a range of complementary services, including a significant offering in the area of site logistics that is focused on projects of £100m or more. With only a basic digital presence, however, this division of the group required a well-designed website to do justice to its high-end offering.

Yoyo delivered an excellent website for our Construction Logistics division. Every member of the Yoyo team that we came across was a pleasure to work with, always friendly, polite and accommodating. The end product delivers on all objectives and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to others.

Both distinct and distinctive, the site needed to showcase O’Neill & Brennan’s logistics services, help raise brand awareness, attract talent, and – crucially – generate high-value leads.

O’Neill & Brennan’s logistics offering appeals to a range of audiences within the construction sector, from skilled workers up to executive level. Having undertook research into the market and the competitive set, we therefore looked to identify a series of more defined personas for various site users. This process highlighted the motivations and frustrations among priority audiences, giving us the insight needed to shape key user journeys and develop the ideal structure for site content.

Engaging prospects
The site has become a cornerstone of the sales process, smoothly guiding users across a series of information touchpoints to influence perception and encourage them to make contact.

The site had to feel familiar to a construction industry audience while also relaying the scale and complexity of the exclusive projects undertaken by O’Neill & Brennan. Our design concept took visual cues from building and architecture, using gridlines to hint at scaffolding and invoke a sense of structure. Clean typography and well-spaced content underlined the site’s premium look and feel, while page reveals and bespoke animations provide users with an experience that’s pleasing to the eye and satisfying to navigate.

A key part of the brief from O’Neill & Brennan was to have a site where content could be managed by the in-house team. We delivered exactly that, using Umbraco to give them a flexible solution for ongoing maintenance and updates. From early design and prototyping through to final sign-off, the project progressed directly in line with the schedule and exactly according to the brief. O’Neill & Brennan now have the digital presence their Construction Logistics division deserves – a visually appealing showcase of their capabilities in this part of the industry that provides vital lead-generation support for their internal sales operation.
