Bettering your B Corp
This was a one day not for profit networking event for female leaders of B Corp companies which truly focused on ways to better your mind, body and B Corp business. The day gave our guests ample opportunity to network amongst like minded fellow B Corp female leaders and was a great success.
Held at Kingdom, in the middle of a beautiful 13-acre woodland venue in Penshurst, Kent, we had three wonderful female speakers leading discussion around our core topics: People, Planet and Prosperity.
The day began with a chance to learn how functional breathing can have a powerful effect on energy levels, physical health and emotional wellbeing. Nadyne, Founder of Mindful Movement Method shared tools, techniques and practices to encourage curiosity through awareness of body signals. Our female founders learnt ways to connect with their body, soothe and regulate a wired nervous system and explored how to speak the language of the brain to reduce stress, increase calm and feel better at work, and beyond.
Our second session involved an informative and thoughtful group discussion led by three top female B Corp business leaders who are very successfully leading the B Corp movement today.
- Rosie Brown, Co-CEO, Cook
- Kresse Wesling, Co-Founder, Elvis & Kresse
- Jacqueline Gunn, Head of Community, B Lab UK.
The speakers led with a brief summary surrounding their B Corp business and then the session was left open and relaxed allowing for group discussion that focused on many different interesting topics related to our people, the planet, female leadership and general business prosperity. We ended this session with a Q&A with our speakers that provided all our guests with the chance to take part in an open, candid discussion - it was a brilliant and focused way to gain useful and valuable insight from other leading women within the B Corp industry.
After lunch, we took our guests on a small woodland walk around Kingdom and got another opportunity to really get to know each other whilst taking in some breathtaking countryside views. Finally, we closed our day with a energising yoga and mindful movement practice designed to get us out of our busy heads and into our bodies. We were taught how to move with curiosity and focus and how by empowering our inner warriors through flow and dynamic movements, we were able to achieve restorative stillness.
