Demelza Hospice Care for Children provides a vital lifeline for families navigating the most challenging times imaginable. While a 2023 rebrand had given them a fresh look, their digital home hadn't kept pace. Essential services were buried under legacy content, and simple tasks, like signing up for the lottery or finding referral forms, were bogged down by a seven-step process. Demelza needed more than a "reskin"; they needed a rebuild that offered genuine utility, accessibility, and comfort to families, professionals, and supporters alike.

We condensed over 200 pages of cluttered legacy content into four clear, audience-specific hubs. By categorizing journeys for Families, Professionals, Supporters, and Talent, we ensured that the right information is always within reach during high-stress moments.

Remove administrative friction

We integrated DocuSign, Stripe, and Dotdigital to automate manual, error-prone tasks. This transformed the lottery results process from a weekly hours-long ordeal into a single-click task, freeing the Demelza team to focus on care rather than spreadsheets.

Sensory-Inspired design

Taking inspiration from Demelza’s physical sensory rooms, we integrated "bouncy" rollovers and interactive branded bubbles on the homepage. These playful elements provide a sense of warmth and light-heartedness for children and families visiting the site.

Demelza’s vision for extraordinary care aligned perfectly with our commitment to user-centric digital transformation. We moved their platform to Umbraco 13, leveraging its flexibility to create a platform that is as empathetic as it is efficient.

We developed a custom "building blocks" component system, allowing the Demelza team to arrange layouts intuitively while maintaining brand consistency. By integrating Tower Lotteries and Fundraising platforms, we reduced the friction of giving, turning a complex seven-step lottery sign-up into a single, seamless flow.
