Building a digital space for a design agency to display the brand worlds they create
The latest change-making company we’re proud to have join our list of partners is JDO. The award-winning independent branding agency partnered with us to create a digital manifestation of their own brand. Giving them a sales and marketing channel worth shouting about. The result? A streamlined site which provides a more enjoyable experience for visitors and more powerful insights for the internal team. JDO is an incredible brand design agency offering strategic expertise, creative excellence and innovative solutions. But their existing website didn’t reflect this. There was a clear opportunity to elevate their brand perception through their digital presence, so that’s exactly what we set out to do.

Create the belief
The opportunity
By building on their existing identity, carving out space for the brand worlds they create to tell their own story and more accurately reflecting themselves, we knew JDO could attract both more clients and more creatives. Partnering with us was a no-brainer as we’d helped the gang at JDO to create their original website almost 10 years ago, giving us a deep understanding of the JDO brand and allowing us to hit the ground running. Their old site was outdated. This meant the should-be simple task of editing their website was time-consuming, causing unnecessary stress (and headaches) for the JDO team.

Our approach
Prospects need a website that showcases their work whilst having a smooth and satisfying user experience. Proving they can trust JDO to deliver, and conveying the creativity and fun they’ll experience when they work with them. Even though we already had a long standing relationship with JDO & the inside scoop, we started by doing a bit more digging. Looking at both competitors and inspirational brands to get a handle on how we could solidify JDO’s authority in the design and innovation space.

Attract prospects
The concept was all about a premium, timeless design which reflects the brand’s updated identity and engages prospects. We made the most out of media from JDO’s past projects, combining it with stylish typography to not just tell visitors how great JDO are, but show them. The work JDO deliver for their clients is amazing, so we wanted to make sure we gave the brand worlds they create enough space to speak for themselves. Yeah, we wanted to build a site which looked brilliant, but we didn’t want to distract prospects with excessive design elements. Instead, we crafted simple layouts that would make JDO’s work the star of the show. We got cracking rebuilding their site, bringing it in line with their new brand guidelines, paying close attention to the backend system and making sure content management was as simple as possible. But we didn’t just focus on internal users, we implemented intuitive navigation design patterns and an effective information architecture to increase audience engagement, too.
