Integrating Sustainability
We believe that digital design shouldn’t come at a cost to the planet.
Our Yoyo mission is to help Good Brands succeed. As a B Corp, we recognize that the digital revolution has an "invisible" environmental impact; the digital sector’s share of global greenhouse gas emissions has increased by half since 2013, now sitting at roughly 3.7%.
Sustainability isn’t an "add-on" for us; it is a core constraint that drives better, more efficient innovation. By reducing the digital weight of our outputs, we create faster, more accessible, and more effective experiences for our clients.

80% of a product's environmental impact is determined during the design phase. We prioritize efficient user journeys to reduce the time spent on-device, ultimately lowering energy consumption.

We don’t greenwash. We use data-driven tools to measure the carbon footprint of our digital products and are honest with our clients about the trade-offs between high-intensity media and environmental impact.

We advocate for "Digital Sobriety" building what is necessary, not just what is possible. We challenge ourselves to create high-impact experiences without the "bloat" of unnecessary features.

Green Web Hosting
Why it matters:
Data centers are massive energy consumers.
How we do this:
We encourage and prioritize hosting partners that run on 100% renewable energy and have high Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) ratings.
Asset Optimization (Media & Video)
Why it matters:
Video and high-res images are the heaviest contributors to page weight.
How we do this:
We implement "Lazy Loading," use modern formats like WebP or AVIF, and avoid auto-playing videos wherever possible to save bandwidth.
Sustainable Development Practices
Why it matters:
Clean code runs more efficiently, requiring less processing power from the end-user's device.
How we do this:
We practice "code minification," limit the use of heavy frameworks, and prioritize system fonts over custom web fonts to reduce HTTP requests.
Carbon Budgeting
Why it matters:
Just like a financial budget, a page should have a weight limit.
How we do this:
We set a "Carbon Budget" at the start of projects to ensure the final site remains within a specific CO2-per-page-view threshold.

We streamline user journeys to ensure the fastest path to information, reducing "screen time" and overall device energy consumption. Our discovery phases prioritize low-energy research tools and remote-first collaboration to minimize our carbon footprint.

We utilize darker UI palettes where appropriate to save energy on modern OLED screens and prioritize lightweight SVG illustrations over heavy, high-resolution photography. Every creative asset is weighed against its environmental impact without sacrificing visual excellence.

By building-in "Dark Mode" options and utilizing static site generators, we significantly reduce server-side processing and client-side power usage. Our code is minified and optimized to ensure high performance on the lowest possible bandwidth.

Our formalised corporate gifting policy prioritizes B Corp partners, ensuring every token of appreciation reflects our commitment to measurable carbon savings.
